missional mindset for what matters
culture
communities with rich arts and cultural resources, especially in rural areas, see greater levels of civic engagement, active volunteering, and reduced income inequality
arts
public art isn’t just decorative. it improves safety perceptions and overall well‑being. communities with public-facing art report feeling safer and more included, particularly in historically underserved neighborhoods
beauty
neglected spaces don’t just look sad, they make us feel small, unsafe, and forgotten. research shows that cleaning up and revitalizing vacant lots can boost residents’ sense of community by 83%, cut worries about violence by 56%, and cut perceptions of disorder by 55%. Blight isn't just a physical problem—it's psychological
civics
when people feel their neighborhood is cared for, and that others care for them, they’re more likely to believe in the power of participation and civic engagement. Lancaster is currently 2nd to last in the county
How do we change this?
Events
We partner with Downtown Lancaster and Lancaster Forward to host events that celebrate culture, strengthen community, and create a true sense of belonging.
ART! (murals!)
Lancaster has no public art installations—but we’re on a mission to change that, starting with our first community mural that will spark pride, creativity, and connection.
Education & Workshop
Through educational programs and workshops, we engage neighbors in learning, from exploring how local policies shape our community to enjoying hands-on art and culture experiences that broaden horizons and inspire participation.
